American SAT I & SAT IISAT I & SAT II

The SAT Reasoning Test (SAT I) is the principal standardised test for university admissions in the United States and is administered by the College Board. The test assesses critical thinking and problem solving skills. Though multiple choice questions account for the vast majority of the exam, there is also one short essay question.

The SAT Subject Tests (SAT II) afford students more choice than the SAT Reasoning Test. Different universities require different numbers of Subject Tests as part of the application process. Many universities require two; some highly competitive universities require three. Some universities do not require subject tests to be taken at all, but applicants should normally expect to take at least two. Students can choose which subjects they attempt, though the choices offered are limited.

Re-sitting the SAT

It isn't uncommon for students to re-sit either of the SATs. As your score improves so do your chances of being accepted into your first choice of university.

The College Board allows you to choose which of your SAT test scores are submitted with your university application.  Previously all of your test results would have been submitted, good and not so good! If you have the time and your tutor feels that you have the capability to improve a score then re-sitting is worth serious consideration.
