GMAT
What is it?
The Graduate Management Admission Test is a standardised assessment taken by graduates.
It consists of three parts:
- Analytical Writing Assessment
- Quantitative Section
- Verbal Section
The first section consists of two analytical writing tasks; the remaining two sections (Quantitative and Verbal) consist of multiple-choice questions delivered in a computer-adaptive format. Questions in these sections are dynamically selected as you take the test, which means that the multiple-choice questions will adjust to your ability level, and your test will be unique. This method is also used for the GRE test.
Most Business Schools and Universities around the world use the GMAT as a predictor of academic performance in their selection of candidates for MBA other graduate management programmes. The majority of MBA programs around the world require the GMAT exam as a major prerequisite for admission.
When can I take it?
As with the GRE, the GMAT is available year round but can only be taken once per calendar month and no more than five times in any given 12 month period. Test results are saved for five years and the most recently obtained three GMAT scores are sent to Business Schools and Universities upon request.
